Town of Pulaski is Accepting Applications to Fill a Vacancies on Various Boards

The Town of Pulaski is seeking qualified residents to serve two vacancies the Town’s Planning Commission, two vacancies on the Economic Development Authority, and one vacancy Board of Zoning Appeals.

The Planning Commission oversees development in the Town according to the Zoning Regulations and the Comprehensive Plan. Its prime function is to review and make recommendations to the Town Council on applications for zoning requests from citizens and to review and amend the Zoning Regulations and the Comprehensive Plan. Commission members are appointed by the Town Council for four (4) year terms. The commission meets on the second Monday at 6pm of each month in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building.

The EDA is a seven-member board appointed by Town Council with four-year staggered terms. They work closely with the Town to serve the business community, encouraging, and facilitating existing and new commercial, retail, and residential development. The authority meets on the first Tuesday each month at 10am in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building.

The Board of Zoning Appeals members are nominated by Town Council, but appointed by the Circuit Court judge for five-year terms. Consisting of five regular members and two alternates, the board is authorized to decide on variances from the zoning regulations; hear appeals from the decision of the zoning administrator; consider special exception use permits for structure placement; and determine zoning district boundaries. Members must be town residents and hold no other public office. Meetings are on an as needed basis.
